Q-Tec Units
The Newest member of the Bard family is the Q-Tec Series. Designed for interior installation, this unit delivers a whisper quiet operation. It is designed to address both ventilation and dehumidification requirements.
Models:
The Q-Tec Series unit comes in four different models; Heat Pump, Straight Cool, Chilled Water and Geo Thermal.
Quiet Technology:
The Q-Tec unit delivers a whisper quiet operation. We use a special sound deadening material in the cabinet to help minimize the noise levels. The compressor we use is a Copeland Scroll compressor which reduces shut down noise while improving reliability and a longer life to the unit. The blower is an ECM motor designed for "soft start" operation and will maintain the units designed air flow, compensating for obstructions or dirty filters.
Aesthetics:
This unit comes with two cabinet options: Standard Grey painted finish or two-tone slate/platinum vinyl laminated finish. Suitable for both new construction and renovation, it has a small footprint so it will not take up valuable floor space.
Ventilation Options:
All of our Q-Tec Series units come with ventilation options including the ERV, providing between 200 to 450 CFM of outside air. The ERV pulls conditioned air from the exhaust of the unit, pre-treating the incoming ventilation air before cycling it thought the evaporator coil. By pre-conditioning, we are lowering the cooling load of the conditioned space.
Dehumidification Options:
The Dehumidification option is only available on the Heat Pump and Straight Cool unit. When dehumidification is called for, hot gas from the compressor is sent to a re-heat coil in the evaporator. This turns the coil sensible-neutral and delivers dry air into the conditioned space. This function is only secondary to cooling the space and we suggest using an electronic humidistat for control.
Efficiency:
The Heat Pump and Straight Cool units have efficiency ratings between 10.00 - 12.50 SEER.
